TUESDAY, MARCH 31ST. COOKING TIME

Our teacher in training Antonio Rocha has created an activity for today's lesson. Are you ready?
Hello everyone!  As you know, we all have to stay at home these days, but we can take advantage of this situation. I think it’s the perfect time to do our best and show off with our special dishes.  We are all going to share one dish with the rest of the class, therefore, let your imagination flow and try to catch your classmates’ attention! You have to follow these instructions:
-You have to post your comments in alphabetical order; therefore, the first one on the list will be the first one to share her special dish.
When the first comment is posted, the second student on the list will do the same. S/he will have to give his or her opinion about the first student’s dish and describe his or her own dish afterwards.
- You have to describe your special dish in detail. We all want to taste it!
Best regards and I hope everyone is fine at home.

ACTIVITY 1: SMART PLANET BOOK. UNIT 1. PAGE 11. To correct exercises 3 and 5 click HERE

ACTIVITY 2: Watch a musical scene from the film Back to the Future and try to aswer these questions. Include your answers in your comment.
1) Why does a musician from the band ring his cousin called Chuck? Who is this Chuck?
The musician is supposed to be calling Chuck Berry, the singer who would compose that song in the future.

2) Why is everybody surprised at the end of the song?
Because the boy is playing the guitar in a way nobody has played before. This is the reason why at the end of the song he says that his audience is not "prepared", but their children (in the future) will love this style of playing the guitar.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18TH

Today we are going to concentrate on USED TO AND WOULD. Both can be translated as "solía". But be careful. You can always use "USED TO", BUT NOT "WOULD":

  1. Used to is used to talk about habitual or regular actions or states in the past that are now finished.
  2. Would is also used to talk about habitual actions in the past, but not to talk about past states.
Watch this video and learn how to use them correctly:

TASKS FOR TODAY

Go to your book and do UNIT 1. USED TO AND WOULD. page 10.

For assessment, leave three sentences in the blog.
1 sentence in which you can use both "used to" and "would".
