I reckon exams are a good way of seeing what the students are able to do and what they have learned just as long as teachers take into account that not all the students have the same qualities and maybe doing the same kind of test for everyone isn't fair. They also usually stress them out and that leads to a poorer performance in the actual exam. Maybe looking for an alternative way of evaluating or doing special exams would be better.
Are exams necessary to assess the students abilities? Most people disagree with that, but there are people who claim they're necessary.
However, I agree with that opinion, because sometimes, students can be nervous in a text. I also think that if you don't remember the answer and you try to explain it, the teacher is going to think that you haven't study enough. The topic of exams in educatiom id one which often causes a great deal of discussion. Although they are the easiest way of asses, are they the best?
ResponderEliminarFirstly, we can imagine what other techniques can teachers use to know the marks we deserve. Continuous assesment is the other important form . It consists in evaluate the effort of students during all the term. However, using this metod of test, teachers can generate stress on their alumns because they have no free days and they can have worse results.
Whereas, continuous assesment is for a long period, exams concentrate all the material on a few days. So, if the exam is the most popular way of evaluate, it will be because of something. In addition, exams are identical for everyone and levels can be compared between countries.
To sum up, although there are a big amount of ways to test students, exams are unique and can generate stress only some days per term, instead of always.

In the high school, most people study to pass all the exams, but, often there are some students who fail the exams because they become nervous or they have problems to concentrate, however they have studied a lot.

ResponderEliminarIn my opinion I disagree with exams are not the best way to test a student's ability, although too many people get nervous in exams (like me) if you studied a lot and you know all the things that you must know, you will be calm and do a good exam, however, I agree that in some subjects exams are a very useless. Whereas in physics and chemistry you have to understand it and with the daily work can be it enough, and you can't do and exam because if you do exercises and they are correct it means that you know the topic.
In conclusion I think that each subject must have a specific form of assess the students’ abilities, and each form have to be the best form for that subject.

However, some exams are necessary. I think the Government should give Education other ways of testing our skills more practical. In addition to this, behavior at class is not value enough.
In my opinion this tests doesn't prove anything because if you don't pay attention in class but you study for the exam, you can actually get a higher grade than other students who get really nervous at the exam even though they have studied and paid attention in class.

Firstly an exam usually helps a student who is good at studying, and the students who have practical skills are not helped, and this is unfair. ResponderEliminarFor the most of students, exams make us fall in nervous and strees. However, teachers need them to know how we are going in wichever area, and to assess all our knoledge. But I'm sure exams aren't the only way to evaluate pupil's capacity.
In addition, when you are on the exams, you often get nervious and you can't think clearer.
In conclusion, I think exams are not the only way to assess students. Me and the majority of pupils rather a system in which students are evaluated with homeworks, questions and games, in which are rated notes, positives and negatives

When trimester ends, teachers have to know how much you have been learning this year, so they do an exam. But, is that the best way to evaluate someone? I do not think so.
ResponderEliminarFirstly, everyone could have a bad day. Although you can be the best one in a subject, you can fail it because of an exam. That makes you feel that you are not good in anything.
Also, there are different ways to assess a student. The teachers revise everyday if someone is taking care or is trying to have a good grade. Perhaps the instructor can pick up students' homework and if any of them have got something bad or it is not done, he or she should try to discover if it is because they really don't care or they have got problems to do it.
In conclusion, I think exams are good form to see if a student have studied or not, but it is not the best one.

ResponderEliminarFirstly, exams make students feel nervous, and as they are nervous, they can fail easily, even if they have studied a lot. Whereas, there are other people that don’t study enough and if they have the possibility of cheating, they will be able to pass their exam with the only difficulty of not getting caught by teachers.
In addition, the most important part of exams is the memory, because you have to learn by heart a lot of information, and sometimes you don’t understand what you are reading. When this happens, the person who is memorising is not learning anything, because after the exam, he’ll forget the most part of it.
Finally, I’m sure that teachers don’t like to correct 25 or 30 exams per class, because it has to be a very exhausting and boring work to read always the same thing. But it’s the most important way they have to evaluate their students.
In conclusion, I think exams aren’t a good way to test students, but joined with other techniques such as projects, homeworks, classwork and attitude may help teachers to make a good assessment.

Maybe, we could make works, exercises to participate or teachers can ask us the lessons all weeks and on this form, we could get califications.
